Clinical Cellular Immunologist

SUMMARY:

- Discover and develop novel vaccines (prophylactic and therapeutic) for the prevention and treatment of significant human diseases using a variety of vaccine technology platforms combined with immunomodulatory agents.
- The clinical cellular immunology group supports the growing clinical pipeline by conducting cell based assays to GCLP for Phase I/II clinical trials.
- Individuals with immunoassay experience are required to join the group to run a variety of cellular immune assays to enable vaccine candidate evaluation in clinical trials.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

- Bachelors with at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Masters with at least 1 year of work experience.
- Experience in conducting a variety of immunoassays.
- Experience in tissue culture techniques.
- Detail focused and able to run repetitive assays accurately.
- Experience of working in an industrial or academic laboratory with a defined quality system.
- Tissue culture experience is a must have and experience with other immune cell based assays such as ELISPOT and FACS is preferred.
- Knowledge or background working in regulated labs would be a plus.
- Candidates will have experience in a relevant immunoassay setting, preferably with knowledge and practical experience of cellular immune assays.
- They will also preferably have experience in working with clinical samples in a regulated environment.
- Experience in tissue culture techniques and their application to immune cell studies is essential, preferably combined with experience of applying immunoassays (eg ELISPOT, FACS, ELISA etc).
- A strong emphasis will also be placed on good team and communication skills as they will be part of a team required to analyze multiple samples in a variety of assays within tight timelines. Initially the role will be heavily focused on supporting the development of cell based assays that meets regulatory requirements; subsequently on conducting these assays on clinical samples
- The role may also involve management of outsourced clinical sample acquisition.

- Experience in and knowledge of cellular immune assays.
- Experience in the general management of a laboratory.
- Conducting assays to GXP in a regulated environment.
- Experience in the implementation and use of laboratory information management systems.
