The University of Nevada School of Medicine (UNSOM) Office of Medical Research (OMR) is looking for an outstanding individual to join the OMR as a Manager responsible for developing, maintaining and reporting from, a variety of administrative and research data bases; for providing technical support to users of those databases; for maintaining the local area network for the OMR; for communication and interface with University Information Technology and external data systems; for advising on data system configurations; and for ensuring that the OMR data systems remain secure and functional.

Successful candidates will have knowledge of: networked business computing environments; database programming in the SQL environment; HTML programming; standard business productivity software (MS Office Suite); fundamentals of computer hardware support; data backup systems; quality improvement, particularly as it applies to data systems; and HIPAA and its application to the position and duties.

Successful applicants will also have the ability to effectively troubleshoot computer software and hardware problems; maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, and effectively provide presentations to a variety of audiences.
