Client Representative

A Renewable Energy Client is looking for multiple Cable Client Representatives/Offshore Observers to work offshore, onboard a Cable Laying Vessel. These Client Representatives/Offshore Observers will be working on a rotation of 14 days on/off and 12 hour days, starting in June 2014 on a minimum contract of 8 months.

Main duties:

- Oversee cable installation/cable termination duties.
- Check work according to protocols
- Sign off work
- Report back to client.

Qualification Expectations:

- Work experience in offshore wind project
- Offshore vessel work experience
- General work experience as offshore observer/client representative
- Experience with offshore power cable installation

o Cable lay vessel (CLV)
o Planning of cable laying operations
o Execution or supervision of:
. cable loading operations
. cable lay operations
. pull-in operations (on foundation or on CLV)
. installation of cable protection systems
- Offshore power cable commissioning experience:

o Execution or supervision of termination and/or cable testing
- HSE qualification, and ideally Work experience as HSE surveyor
- Quality inspection experience (awareness for critical points, documenting hand-overs working with checklists)
- German language skills ideally but not essential

Alternative Criteria:

- General offshore cable installation experience (also fibre optics cable)
- General cable commissioning experience
- Execution or supervision of cable commissioning (onshore cable, fibre optic, etc.)
- Power cable repair experience
