Clerk of Works/Building Services Engineer (DV Cleared)

Clerk of Works DV cleared - Our Client is looking for a DV cleared Clerk of Works to check that Building Services are installed to the correct design specification and that health and safety rules are being followed.

The position would suit an engineer qualified to HNC level in Electrical, Mechanical or Building services engineering, experienced in overseeing works on refurbishment construction sites, to project manager level.

A good working knowledge of construction and installation of services is required, from design through to Commissioning.

Also a good working knowledge of the following systems:-

Fire Alarms
Leak detection
Air Conditioning VAV/CV/Fan coils
BMS Controls
Heating and cooling
Security
Electrical Services power lighting, and cooling
Fire stopping
HWS CWS
Drainage
Water Treatment

Responsibilities:
- To oversee quality and safety of work, and that building plans and specification are being followed correctly
- To ensure permits have been issued for work carried and method statements and risk assessments are being adhered to
- To perform regular inspections on site, to compare completed work with drawings, and that drawings are being updated where changes are made
- To identify defects and suggest ways to correct them, in conjunction with Consultants and the Client Technical team
- To provide snagging lists as agreed times prior to concealment, and progress their completion
- To ensure the Health and Safety file is kept up to date with O & M information drawings and test certification
- To witness pressure and electrical testing, setting to work, and final commissioning
