Claims Examiner - Workers Compensation Job

WORKER'S COMPENSATION CLAIMS EXAMINER needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Santa Ana, CA. Contract starts immediately and will go through at least Jan 2015.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- Administer Worker's Compensation benefits to injured Cast Members to include investigation, review/analysis of medical reports, arranging medical exams, communication with Cast Members, physicians, attorneys and other providers.
- Provide all appropriate benefits to include Temporary Disability, Permanent Disability, Medical care and Vocational Rehabilitation.
- Investigation of claims
- Medical management to include working with Nurse Case Managers and Medical providers
- Litigation management to include coordination with internal and external resources.
- Decision within established levels of authority are made without the need for additional supervisory approval Claims Examiner maintains frequent contact with multiple parties which includes Cast Members, area management, department management, medical practitioners, attorneys, vocational rehabilitation professionals and various other resources.

What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- Self Insurance Certification required
- Insurance Education Association Certificate in Workers Compensation Claims preferred.
- Bilingual if available
- Excellent organizational skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively prioritize multiple issues
- Proven ability to function well in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated experience functioning within a team
- Ability to maintain a professional, courteous and positive demeanor under adverse circumstances

Requires ability to work effectively within established levels of authority, seeking out supervision as needed and as established by internal procedures and guidelines.
- Claims Examiner must remain educated and trained as new legislation and case law impact the provision of Worker's Compensation benefits
- Must have excellent skills in using automated systems and computer applications.
- Must be SIP Certified
- HS Diploma required/BA or BS preferred and three to ten (3 - 10) years of experience
