Job Description:

Position Overview
Provide Safety and Risk Control Services for Construction Clients. Responsibilities may include conducting site surveys/inspections, providing analysis of safety programs, client compliance with OSHA regulations. In addition, qualified candidate should be able to provide risk engineering solutions to address client needs. Individual must be capable of managing client relations, retain and develop new business opportunities.

Job Duties

- Monitor contractors for compliance with established Safety policies and procedures, and with all applicable federal, state and local governmental safety regulations.
- Able to review client safety programs for completeness, adherence to safety standards and to all applicable federal, state and local governmental safety regulations.
- Conduct Safety Surveys for client activities, including the preparation of Project Evaluations, to record the observation of safety performance and to make appropriate corrective recommendations.
- Compiles and maintains safety performance data and statistics, and communicates the status/results to clients.
- Attends, reviews and evaluates quality and consistency of client safety meetings. This individual will encourages clients to conduct regular toolbox and other periodic safety meetings with their employees.
- Conduct accident investigations as required, prepares accident investigation reports, recommends corrective action, and follows up with clients to assure that recommendations have been instituted.
- Serves as a Technical Safety Advisor to all clients. Provides safety consulting and advice to clients regarding problems and challenges arising on the job.
- Acts as client advocate to foster highest level of accident prevention.
- Able to conduct technical orientations and training on safety related topics.
- Participate in professional organizations to keep abreast of developments in the safety field.

Additional Skills:

Qualifications

- BA or BS with 5 to 10 years Health and Safety experience in Heavy Construction (or 10 to 20 years without degree).
- Successful candidate must possess a working knowledge of OSHA General Industry and Construction Standards.
- Completion of OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Course.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must have ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees and at meetings.
- Possess good computer skills.
- Ability to recognize Safety and Health hazards on Heavy Construction sites and be able to mitigate.
- Effective organization and time management skills.
