Senior Civil/Structural Engineer - Glasgow

Real pride. Real advantage. My Client is recruiting for Senior Civil/Structural Engineers to join our Buildings & Infrastructure Services team, which is part of our Real Estate Solutions Business. The team is principally based in the North West of England, but is recruiting for a role based primarily at Glasgow.

The successful candidate will help strengthen the existing multidisciplinary team providing technical support and engineering design management to infrastructure projects at in the Glasgow area, providing similar support as required to other military and Company sites across the UK and Overseas. As a result there is a requirement to travel as part of this role and candidates should expect to spend time away from home as projects require.

As a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer your main responsibilities will involve:
Undertake engineering feasibility assessments, preliminary designs and reports within own sphere of responsibility to professional standards of quality to meet target dates for delivery
Undertake condition surveys, and write technical reports
Prepare concept designs and options studies that will form the basis of further development work
Oversee and manage the work of sub-contractors assigned to carry out design
Undertake peer reviews where required
Inspect and report on construction site matters
Contribute technical input to multidisciplinary Project Teams
Contribute to team planning, risk management, quality and SHE to support the effective functioning of the Project Team
Participate in design reviews as required
Provide Project Management Leadership as required

As a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Degree qualified in civil/structural engineering or equivalent qualification
Chartered or near Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer
Post graduate experience in the design and construction of infrastructure projects
Experience of marine engineering is essential
Experience of structural design in concrete and steel to British Standards/Eurocodes is essential
Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel, Project)

It is imperative the successful incumbent will have excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with customers, partners and suppliers and when involved in team discussions
