Civil Structural Analyst

Link Technologies is currently seeking a Civil Structural Analyst for contract work in Aiken, SC.

DUTIES:

Perform advanced structural analyses of various structures to validate their design adequacy for normal operation and accident loading conditions. Advanced structural analytical capabilities include the ability to perform the following: Seismic Soil-Structure Interaction (SSI); dynamic seismic analysis (response Spectra and time-history); development of in-structure seismic response Spectra, and to evaluate structural responses for tornado winds, missile penetration, precipitation (rain, flood, snow), and explosion (blast/detonation and deflagration).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

MS Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, or BS Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and current registration as a Professional Engineer in either Civil or Structural Engineering.

Experience/Skills:

Candidate must demonstrate a minimum of eight (8) years experience in the design and analysis of nuclear or industrial facilities. Candidate must demonstrate a working knowledge of STAAD, ANSYS, ABAQUS, SASSI, DYNA3D or similar computer codes. Candidate must demonstrate a sound working knowledge of National Codes and Standards such as IBC, AISC (ASD, LRFD, & N690), ASCE, ACI (318 including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and a 9/80s (9 hours/day, fives days on week A and 4 days on week B). Each work day has a 30-minute lunch.

Area Security Access:

A security clearance is not initially required; however, candidate must be capable of obtaining an L clearance if required to perform various assigned duties.
