Civil Engineer - Infrastructure

Civil Engineer/Portsmouth/4 Month Contract/Buildings & Infrastructure Services

The role
The successful candidate will help strengthen the existing multidisciplinary team providing technical support and engineering design management to infrastructure projects at company sites across the UK and Overseas. As a result there is a requirement to travel as part of this role and candidates should expect to spend time away from home as projects require.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is looking for a different business focus to develop or expand on their civil/structural and project management experience in a very challenging and fast paced expanding business environment.

As a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer your main responsibilities will involve:
Undertake engineering feasibility assessments, preliminary designs and reports within own sphere of responsibility to professional standards of quality to meet target dates for delivery
Undertake condition surveys, and write technical reports
Prepare concept designs and options studies that will form the basis of further development work
Oversee and manage the work of sub-contractors assigned to carry out design
Undertake peer reviews where required
Inspect and report on construction site matters
Contribute technical input to multidisciplinary Project Teams
Contribute to team planning, risk management, quality and SHE to support the effective functioning of the Project Team
Participate in design reviews as required
Provide Project Management Leadership as required
