Civil Engineer Consultant - EPC/Pipelines/oil and gas exp. Job

Yoh has a SHORT TERM (3 - 4 MONTHS) CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY for a CONSULTING CIVIL ENGINEER (EPC BACKGROUND) to join our client in downtown HOUSTON, TX.

KEY SKILLS: Civil Engineer with some construction experience. BILINGUAL (SPANISH) preferred.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Civil Engineer (EPC projects) provide CIVIL/STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING EXPERTISE to a project engineering team (The current execution strategy entails the utilization of outside and offshore engineering firms which would require varying levels of leadership and oversight when those external engineering firms are part of our strategy).
- Civil Engineer (EPC projects) will discuss requirements with the Engineering Company (vendors) or lead and other professionals (eg mechanical engineers).
- REVIEW DRAWINGS USING COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN (CAD) PACKAGES.
- Civil Engineer (EPC projects) WILL ANALYZE, SURVEY, MAP AND MATERIALS-TESTING.
- JUDGE WHETHER CIVIL SOLUTION (FOUNDATIONS, OPEN DRAINS, STRUCTURES, ETC) ARE WORKABLE BY ASSESSING MATERIALS, COSTS AND TIME REQUIREMENTS.
- Make sure drawings and other project documentation meet legal guidelines, and health and safety requirements.
- The incumbent must be fully cognizant of contract requirements and understand the required engineering deliverables and their assigned dates. As Engineering is performed by 3rd party engineering firms, the incumbent maintains responsibility for the quality and delivery issues of civil/structural deliverables.
- The engineer should be able to perform conventional, more complex assignments at this level.
- Perform and review material and labor takeoffs based on conceptual design drawings.
- PREPARE ENGINEERING EXECUTION PLANS AS REQUIRED.
- Writing and reviewing Civil/Structural specifications and vendor documentation.
- Perform Civil Structural Studies.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- At least 10 -15 years of experience in Civil/structural Engineering, prefer Oil and Gas industry or EPC projects background.
- Experience with AutoCAD software and proficient with MS Office (ie Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
