Civil/Structural Engineer

My client are recruiting for Civil/Structural Engineers to join our Buildings & Infrastructure Services team, which is part of our Real Estate Solutions Business.
The successful candidate will help strengthen the existing multidisciplinary team providing technical support and engineering capability to the team. This role will be primarily based in Preston but the Project is based in Glasgow. Hence there is a requirement to travel to Glasgow and possibly other locations in the UK as part of this role and candidates should expect to spend time away from home as projects require.

As a Civil/Structural Engineer your main responsibilities will involve:

This particular role encompasses the independent validation of the civil and structural engineering design element of new world- class manufacturing facilities in Glasgow. Currently the project is at scheme design stage (Riba D) and this review activity will enable the project to progress to detailed design and beyond. The designs requiring validation include heavy civils foundations, water tight construction, steel frame buildings with complex crane arrangements and external works.

As a Civil/Structural Engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

Degree qualified in civil/structural engineering or equivalent qualification
Chartered or near Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer
Post graduate experience in the design and construction of infrastructure projects
Experience of structural design in concrete and steel to British Standards/Eurocodes is essential
Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel, Project)

It is imperative the successful incumbent will have excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with customers, partners and suppliers and when involved in team discussions
