Circuit/Data Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provides expertise in circuit design and/or provisioning activities supporting timely circuit ordering and installation.
- Preparing cost proposals, maintaining network documentation, and circuit diagrams as well as working with telcos and subcontractors in the development of solutions to provide voice, data and telemetry circuits and transport methods using copper, fiber, microwave or radio systems.
- Project management for small projects, change management for system implementation.
- Interacts with other carriers to order circuits and resolve circuit issues.
- Designs and develops circuits used in electronic devices.
- Responsible for layout and design, device evaluation and characterization, test box design, prototype construction and fabrication processes.
- Prepares test methods and specifications; analyzes equipment to establish operating data and conducts experimental tests; provides finished device approval; and prepares customer application information.
- Custom reporting through DART tool.
- Regular analysis requests - must understand how circuits route in a metro TDM data network.
- Technical design/analytic role supporting the PMO program and project management teams.
- Technical governance/guidance for PMO team.
- Replacement of existing power infrastructure.
- Custom design of new power based on unique FAA requirements.
- Enhanced Diversity Analysis.
- Detailed site by site analysis of circuit routing.

SKILLS

- TIRKS, SOTS, DART, TDM Network Design, Carrier TDM Routing, multi-carrier integration, Telco Implementation, Telco Maintenance, Optical Circuits required.
- Bachelors degree required or equivalent experience.
- Minimum years of experience: 3 - 5 years.
- Must have experience in designing circuits end to end including transport equipment such as DACS and channel banks, between telcos, private fiber and microwave for FR, point to point, analog or other transport technologies. Expert with Capacity management principles - (Forecasting, Capacity design constraints and concepts, capacity thresholds for Routers, systems, network elements and transport).
- Experience with IP Engineering Principles.
- Experience with Circuit Routing over Analog Microwave and digital facilities.
- Experience with SONET, IP Transport and Fiber Systems, FR, Point to Point, ATM, IMA, MPLS, Voice Over IP.
- Some assignments require CCNA certification.
- Ownership of circuit diversity requirements for the FTI network.
- Multi-carrier interaction - must be experienced in managing carrier relationships.
- Unprecedented level of detail required.
- EFMS, and RDS experience a plus.
