My Dorset based client is looking for a Management Accountant Assistant/CIMA or AAT Management Accountant Assistant for a 12 month contract.

The Management Accountant Assistant/CIMA or AAT Management Accountant Assistant role:

To support the Management Accountant and Operations with the preparation of the management accounts, analysis to support the business and with any other reasonable tasks requested by them.

*Assist or prepare monthly reports by prescribed deadlines, to include monthly management reports, corporate finance reports, operational finance reports, narratives and variance analyses.
*Involvement and preparation of Planning and Forecasting reports and working with the business to deploy business forecasting, actuals and explanation of performance variances to better control the business. Work with Operations to improve forecasting accuracy
*Preparation of month end accounts, journals, accrual accounting and monthly returns
*Collate and monitor the supplementary performance measures and metrics as provided in the PoaP (picture on a page) and required by corporate finance head office eg load factor, booked hours, DLU (direct labour utilisation) and manpower
*Support operations with any subsidiary reports when required.
*Involved in management of the balance sheet eg conducting physical WIP/asset checks
*Awareness of risk to minimise financial impact with the use of Opportunities and Vulnerabilities reporting.
*Ensure Policy and best practice is followed to attain a clear audit report. Maintain and deploy the Financial Authorities List for the site in line with Policy.
*To deliver a professional and timely service to the internal customer and invest in self development in line with business requirement and personal development plans as agreed with the Line Manager

*Relevant experience, preferably part qualified and working towards a recognised finance qualification eg CIMA/AAT or equivalent.
*Good Excel skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
*Working knowledge and experience of ERP and Finance GL systems
