Childrens Social Worker

The purpose of the posts will be to provide statutory social work services including assessment of need and risk, care planning and, as appropriate, child protection investigations. We aim to prevent the separation of children from their families wherever possible and appropriate.

As a statutory social worker you will be required to ensure children and young people are adequately protected in line with the statutory guidance and departmental policy, procedures and relevant legislation, ensuring that children reach their full potential and have equal access to services available.

Candidates must have the following experience:

-Post qualifying experience of working with children in a statutory children's social care setting
-Experience in assessing children's needs
-Working with Families
-Implementation and monitoring of policies, procedures and regulations
-Experience in the planning and implementation of care plans for children
-Multi-agency work
-Group work

Additional Requirements:

-The post holder must hold a current and full driving licence and have access to appropriate transport. Applicants who are covered by DDA will be considered on an individual basis where reasonable adjustments can be made.
-There will be from time to time a need for out of hours working
-It is a requirement of this role that the post holder is registered as a QSW with the HCPC
