Chief Technical Architect/Technologist - Open Source - Agile - London

CHIEF TECHNICAL ARCHITECT/TECHNOLOGIST - OPEN SOURCE - AGILE - LONDON - CONTRACT

We are looking for a high level, Chief Technical Architect who is still very much involved and passionate about open source technology to join this large scale, fast paced, highly Agile department of highly experienced technology professionals (DevOps, Devs, QAs, Product Owners, BAs, Agile Coaches, Delivery Managers etc..)

The ideal Chief Technical Architect will have strong experience in full-stack software development from software design and architecture through to development and delivery with a heavy focus on Agile (Scrum, KanBan, XP, Lean, TDD, BDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment) and JVM technologies (Java is the predominant technology but experience in Scala, Ruby, JavaScript or other JVM languages would be a bonus). Building large, scalable solutions using cutting edge technologies and methodologies.

You will be leading a multi-site department of 100's of highly experienced Agile technology professionals, working closely with some of the brightest minds in technology, supporting nearly 100,000 users across nearly 1,000 sites nationally in very high transactional and challenging environments. You will be tasked with running and transforming the entire IT estate.

We're looking for a Chief Technical Architect who loves technology and although it may not be required as part of the job, someone who still loves programming and stays close to the code as possible, experimenting with cutting edge and exciting technologies all the time.

You should have strong experience working with NoSQL databases (eg Cassandra, DynamoDB MongoDB), BigData, high volume, highly transactional systems, Cloud technologies, experience with automated configuration management (eg Puppet, Chef, Salt Stack, Docker, Ansible), deployment and testing solutions. Experience with modern Front End technologies, such as JavaScript, Angular, HTML5, CSS3, AJAX would be beneficial.

You must be an excellent senior stakeholder/business facing communicator as well as being able to talk through low level technical specifications. Excellent knowledge of Agile methodologies is a must (TDD/BDD, Scrum, KanBan, Lean, eXtreme Programming, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, DevOps and large scale Agile methods such as SAFe and LeSS)
