Our client, a leading global mobile telecommunications company, is looking to recruit a Chief Architect to join their new Development Center in Athlone. The Development Center has been created to allow the company to deliver the highest quality OSS and BSS systems to their customers and place themselves as a leader in management software for communication systems.
Within this role successful candidates will add deep knowledge of high performance computing in cloud environment. The Chief Architect will direct the architecture specification of a next generation platform to support next generation of OSS/BSS platform.
Your responsibilities include:
- Lead and direct platform specification next generation operation platforms for service providers
- Interface to HQ, senior management presentations and customer engagements
- Strategic direction of technology adoption and portfolio realization
- Direct and manage architecture and proof of concept teams
- Analysis of OSS/BSS & Services development trends to guide OSS/BSS planning
- Discuss with customers on business requirements and present to stakeholders
- Technology roadmap and innovation planning
- Technical specification and technical reporting
Required skills and experience:
- Proven and successful industry experience, with strong R&D working experience in data intensive architecture for event processing systems
- Proven experience in technology leading role(s) with Hands-on and can-do attitude
- Excellent Knowledge in noSQL and hybrid data warehouse architectures
- Proven track record in high performance computing architectures
- R&D working experience in Internet infrastructure PAAS, SAAS companies and/or Tier 1 search and online retail providers.
- In-depth knowledge and experience of IT infrastructure features or related O&M requirements, such as physical/virtual resource orchestration, system automation and self-healing
- Experience in Data center networking or Internet Application platforms from leading global Internet player.
- Expertise in the specification of API's to expose platform capabilities, from both internal development and B-2-B view point.
- Strong understanding of relevant business models and system requirements on virtualization and multi-tenant systems.
- Experience in cloud platforms development (VMware, Vsphere, AWS, Google App Engine
- Strong interest and knowledge about industry trend
- Worldwide short-term travels are required
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
