Chemistry Purification Associate Job

CHEMISTRY PURIFICATION ASSOCIATE needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in West Greenwich, RI.

THE BIG PICTURE:

- The successful candidate will also review records of scientific data for fidelity and accuracy, and will be expected to participate in effective cross-functional collaborations with peers in Quality, Manufacturing and other Process Development groups.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Our client's Process Development Purification Sciences group is seeking an Associate-level individual to work in the Process Development group on a temporary basis to provide technical support in protein purification sciences.
- The successful candidate will assist in the execution of bench scale experimentation for the development, optimization, and characterization of protein purification steps including: Chromatography, UF/DF, and nano-filtration.
- Additional duties will include overseeing general up-keep and support of the laboratory, including raw material stocking, and preventive maintenance and calibration of equipment.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Engineering, or related discipline with zero to three (0-2) years of directly related experience OR
- Associate's degree with four (4) years of directly related experience

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience with separations science pertaining to process development and or characterization (chromatography, UF/DF, filtration, etc.).
- Use and/or technical review of electronic laboratory notebooks
- Working knowledge of buffer chemistry
- Working knowledge of pH and conductivity (theory and practice)
- Working knowledge of UV-Vis. spectrophotometry for protein concentration determination
- Basic understanding of protein chemistry
