For our client in BASEL we are looking for a CHEMISTRY/PARTICLE ENGINEERING LAB TECHNICIAN for a 2-YEAR contract.
DURATION: 2018-01-15 BIS 2019-12-31
LOCATION: BASEL
WORKLOAD: 100%
JOB DESCRIPTION:
. Perform scientific experiments in a chemistry/particle engineering laboratory, specifically involving the crystallization of drug substances (active pharmaceutical ingredients)
. Utilise and develop new technologies in the laboratory to aid in crystallization process development
. Plan, organize, perform and document scientific experiments in collaboration with experienced team members. Seeks proactively support from Scientific Expert or other team members.
. Document experiments in lab notebook (including tables, graphs, etc.) and present results to Scientific Expert
. Provide basic data analysis and assistance in design of next experiment
. Demonstrate ability to apply knowledge in discipline to complete work assignments in a timely manner
. Exhibit an understanding and knowledge of techniques, instrumentation and their underlying principles. Perform duties with appropriate knowledge of relevant laboratory tools and procedures. Contribute to the maintenance of laboratory equipment
. Work according to appropriate SOPs, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policies and Novartis Guidelines
. Knowledge of applying solid-state analytical tools to characterize drug substances advantageous
REQUIREMENTS:
. Trained Laboratory technician, or BS, MS in chemistry or process/particle engineering, or equivalent
. Prior experience in performing crystallization process development of small organic compounds would be advantageous
. Knowledge in applying solid-state analytical tools to characterize organic compounds would be advantageous
. Good knowledge of English
