Chemical Plant Contract Operator Job

CHEMICAL PLANT CONTRACT OPERATOR needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in VERNON, CA.

- Warehouse and forklift experience.
- Able to work rotating shifts.
- Perform physical work.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Contract labor required to work in the manufacturing area of the Company's Los Angeles chemical plant, as a Contract Operator. The contractor will report directly to the Production Supervisor and will take day to day direction from the on-shift Lead Production Tech.
- During training and assessment period the Contract Operator will be performing general housekeeping and painting jobs. Once the assessment period is over, the contractor will be expected to perform simple production tasks, such as pulling raw materials drums and totes from inventory using a forklift and will be trained to be able to do so.
- Further work and training will include using machines to package liquid chemicals into drums and totes.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Must be able to work rotating shifts.
- Must have good communication skills.
- Certified Forklift Driver and must provide own steel toed boots.
- The Contractor is required to use the safety training given to work safely at all times and to keep current on all training provided by Company.
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs, push/pull, bend/stoop, squat and reach above shoulder.
- Will be required to work from heights, with/around moving machinery, wear protective equipment and will be exposed to changes in humidity/temperature.
