Chemical Operations Technician

Job Description:
Successful applicant will operate small scale chemical reactor systems used to produce experimental products ranging from a few gallons to several drums under supervision of experienced technician. Applicant will be responsible for accurately and safely following step by step batch instructions provided as well as general operating procedures and verbal instructions. Steps include safe handling and accurate measurement of all chemical ingredients, interfacing with control systems to ensure required process conditions are met, recording observations and process readings, completing record keeping, communicating status of operations and equipment to other technicians and supervisor, and ensuring good area housekeeping. Some simple chemical lab tests such as pH or simple titrations are likely.
Applicant must have reliable basic math and computer skills, must be experienced with Microsoft Office software, able to read and follow detailed instructions, able to communicated in writing as well as verbally.
Prior experience and training with flammable and corrosive chemicals and reaction systems preferred. Must be safety minded. Must be able to lift 50lbs and use hand trucks to move drums.
