Chemical Dependency Counselor II - Matt Talbot for Women

Basic Function:

Render a range of assessment and intervention services under direct supervision. Provide consultation to outside agencies on problems, assessments, and recommendations for clients. Will provide individual case management, eg, to clients coming out of a detox center and into a residential treatment setting, or in outpatient services. Will serve both males and females; may serve adults or adolescents.

Responsibilities:

Under direction, ensure that the activities of this position and relevant programs are consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland.

Provide diagnosis and treatment for clients within the range of program services; especially those requiring chemical dependency treatment.

Act as an advocate for program participants with courts, schools, treatment centers, and other services as appropriate in order to make referrals and conduct follow-ups.

Provide individual and family counseling.

Provide outreach and case management to primary clients.

Prepare written reports, regular case dictation and summaries for consultation according to program standards and professional ethics.

Perform other duties necessary to accomplish objectives.

Requirements:

Combination of experience and education normally represented by a Bachelor's Degree with 3 years relevant chemical dependency counseling work experience required.

LCDC II or be licensure eligible.

Must have knowledge and experience working with adolescents and alcohol/drug assessment and case management if clients are youth returning from state institution or in juvenile justice system.

Must be able to form good working and therapeutic relationships.

Must be organized, detail oriented and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Must possess group work skills.

Must have competent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Good working knowledge of computers with familiarity of Microsoft Office software.
