Character Techical Artist Job

TECHNICAL CHARACTER ARTIST needed for a LONG TERM CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Redmond, WA.

Top Skills You Should Possess:
- Experience with character rigging
- Unity or Unreal or equivalent engine
- Experience with Maya

What You'll Be Doing:
- Technical Artist will be supporting the sandbox team.
- Setting up and supporting both simple and complex assets including props, weapons and vehicles.
- Assisting in education of content creations teams on workflow best practices.
- Supporting content creation teams with everyday troubleshooting issues with tools, rigs and workflows.
- Working with other technical character artists and tools developers to augment and enhance content creation tools.
- Ensuring all game assets meet production technical standards requirements.

What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- Experience with Autodesk Maya, Photoshop required. Expertise in other 3D software packages will be considered.
- As a technical character artist, you must have experience with character, vehicle and prop rigging.
- Some level of Scripting in Maya is required, specifically with Mel and/or Python.
- Must have strong knowledge of modern game development principles and techniques.
- Should also be able to rapidly grasp new technical concepts and quickly become proficient in a new content pipeline.

Bonus Points! Otherwise Known As Preferred Qualifications:
- Havok system experience is a bonus
- Experience with animation
