JOB TYPE: CONTRACT (3 MONTHS INITIALLY)

LOCATION: HERTFORDSHIRE EASILY COMMUTABLE FROM LUTON, HATFIELD, ST ALBANS AND WITH EXCELLENT ACCESS FROM WATFORD

RATE: £28.97 PER HOUR

Outsource UK Ltd is actively seeking to recruit a Change Manager for a contract role on behalf of a client.

THE CLIENT:

- A leading Engineering and Defence organisation

THE JOB:

The purpose of the Change Manager role is to ensure that significant changes are delivered into operational service in a controlled and communicated manner with minimal impact on service delivery and in accordance with a published availability plan. The SMI Change Manager 2 will work with the various business teams and FCO Managed Suppliers to support and guide them through the required steps to transition in successful changes.

The role includes the following objectives:

Ensure that service impacting projects are transitioned into a supportable state.

This includes, carrying out the following activities at appropriate points in the project life cycle:

- Manage failure effect mode analysis (FEMA) to identify likely operational failures and mitigations;
- Identify Operational Readiness Review criteria;
- Agree Service Design Package;
- Agree Service Transition Plan;
- Conduct Operational Readiness Review;
- Develop Early Life Support plan in conjunction with the Project Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

THE SUCCESSFUL CHANGE MANAGER CANDIDATE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING:

- Ensuring that Major Changes are managed into service in a manner that ensures that operational support requirements are delivered via an Operational Readiness Review process that is owned and led by the Change Manager
- Ensure that any ORR Permits or Waivers are clearly defined, agreed and followed through to conclusion
- Safeguard change, supportability and user experience requirements
- Co-ordinating the assessment of impact of changes with manages suppliers and ensuring that the impact is clearly articulated and agreed with the FCO
- Maintenance of an Availability Plan and assurance that change is delivered in accordance with the plan

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE

- Strong character who will protect service from poor or unauthorised changes
- Very strong communication skills: oral, written, presentation, facilitation
- Proven ability to actively manage risk and make informed judgements
- Experience of project delivery in all aspects of the Transition Lifecycle Management
- ITIL Foundation essential, Practitioner desirable
- Project Management qualification desirable
- Developed communication and diplomacy skills with a strong ability to persuade and influence client and stakeholder relationships
- Experience in managing deliverables via 3rd party vendors in a high profile and/or technically innovative enterprise solution
