Central Javascript Front-End Developer

The contract is with a consultancy to be on an assignment at a large European site in Brussels

This migration consists of changing the technology stack of a suite of applications from ColdFusion/
Oracle to Java/Oracle. The suite is supporting grant management, financial management, HR management and (partly) the scientific evaluation process.

The new applications will be built following a modern web app architecture. The Front End will be a HTML5, JavaScript application using AngularJS talking to a Java Back End via REST services producing and consuming JSON-objects. The Back End will be architected as micro services talking to each other via REST-services and JMS. The team is following an Agile software development methodology and as such also continuous integration and continuous delivery are first class citizens and not just an afterthought.

The candidate should have following skills:

- Specific expertise in web interface design;
- Strong knowledge and experience in present-day web usability principles;
- Strong knowledge of web technologies: HTML5, CSS, XML, JavaScript, Ajax, the DOM, etc.
- Strong knowledge of Javascript frameworks like AngularJS, jQuery, Bootstrap, RequireJS, Knockout, etc.
- Experience in writing modular Javascript applications;
- Experience and understanding of unit testing of Javascript applications;
- Experience of integration with REST web services producing and consuming JSON objects;
- Team player, good communicator, passionate about development and extending skills;

The candidate must be fluent in English. S/he should be also able to write documents in English.
