CE&I Engineer

Role Description: To support the definition, implementation and delivery of Control, Electrical and Instrumentation (CE&I) engineering work (specification, analysis, verification and assessment of engineering).

Duties. Selects design approaches and guides development of pragmatic, fit-for-purpose CE&I designs.. Identifies appropriate engineering standards and practices to be used for the delivery of work.. Manages the generation of design deliverables that define and preserve the design intent and are organised and align with the plant configuration.. Assuring compliance of work packages (by self or assigned personnel) with company, legal, regulatory and business requirements by verifying and accepting, on behalf of the site.. Providing assurance of the adequacy and integrity of the functional engineering work packages.. To collaborate in the selection and development of optimised, balanced and practical design solutions balancing aspects of safety and environmental performance, operational effectiveness and constructability.. Carryout effective and proportionate risk management and assurance activities including CE&I and multi-discipline engineering or design reviews, especially in relation to novel techniques or solutions which carry significant financial, technical, design or programme risk.. Promotes and facilitates best practice for the sharing of discipline-specific LFE between the project and across the site

Essential Skills/Qualifications.

Graduate (min 2:2) in relevant CE&I discipline. Substantive relevant experience in the nuclear industry).. Wide knowledge of procedures and methods relevant to his/her field together with full understanding of underlying principles.. Self-motivated with proven ability to deliver safe solutions and a track record of delivering for customers. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Essential Experience.

Electrical distribution (low voltage). Process instrumentation. Machinery safety Desirable

Skills/Qualifications.

Possession of appropriate professional qualification (Incorporated or Chartered Engineer). Membership in an appropriate professional institution. Experience in design and operational radiological safety assessment and the ability to deliver safety advice and guidance on a wide range of engineering projects and operations support.

Desirable Experience.

Programmable electronic systems (PLC and SCADA). Electrical distribution (high voltage). Radiometric instrumentation. Safety systems (to BS EN 61508). Closed circuit TV systems. Electronic security systems. Standby power supply systems including UPS systems
