Category Manager (Professional Services)

Category Manager - Professional Services, Essex, 6 months, £400 - £440 per day.

An instantly recognisable local employer with a National footprint is looking to bring in a Category Manager on an initial 6 month contract to manage its Professional Services Category through a period of transition.

Given the ever evolving nature of the Professional Services category, a tactical and long term spend strategy has become a necessity. Working closely with Procurement team and stakeholders across the business, this role will serve to ensure that present and future Category spend is strategically allocated to allow the organisation to continue operating at its current high level.

Duties for this role include;

- Implementation of procurement strategy and policies that support corporate objectives.
- Advise on tenders across key spend areas
- Take a lead in managing and negotiating of contracts for relevant spend areas
- Lead in procurement related negotiations wherever necessary including pre, and post tender negotiations
- Promote the adoption of procurement best practice throughout the stakeholder community
- Develop the use of E-procurement tools
- Review operational procurement policies and procedures
