OUR CLIENT

The client is a major NHS acute trust based in a central South London location

JOB DESCRIPTION

The main duties of the successful applicant will be to;

- Implement the integrated procurement and strategic sourcing strategy
- Deliver and manage services on behalf of the NHS Trust.
- Maximise value for money savings, provide procurement services within a defined framework
- Ensure compliance with procurement legislation and executive contracts
- Develop an excellent relationship with all stakeholders, including internal customers within the NHS Trust, other Trusts, NHS organisations, suppliers and distributors.
- Support the finance function in ensuring Public Sector Payment Performance consistently meets its target.
- Provide procurement leadership for each sourcing project delivering to stakeholders tendering expertise, evaluation expertise, project administration and escalating issues. Compiling project finalisation in the way of reports for, Clinical Procurement, Investment Viability Committee and Trust Board ensuring an audit trail is maintained throughout the process.
- Liaise with the London Procurement Programme, Crown Commercial Service or NHS Supply Chain, and other organisations as appropriate regarding bespoke contracts, monitoring their performance to support the Trust in meeting its strategic aims and compliance with Trust Standing Financial Instructions.
- Produce and maintain Project Initiation Documents and Project Plans for each and every sourcing and tendering project assigned to you and your team.

ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES

NHS procurement/contracts management OR solid background in public sector

MCIPS qualified

Ability to manage a small team

Demonstrable experience in:

project management, negotiation, cost and price management, EU procurement

An understanding of accounting practices and principles.

Strong organisational/motivational management skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills

Excellent commercial mindset and influencing skills

Ability to work to tight deadlines and timescales

Thorough stakeholder engagement experience

Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply by examination
