ESSENTIAL
- Work closely with the Operational Category Management Group Manager as part of the Strategic Supplier Development Senior Leadership Team. Reduce costs and improve value for money through delivery of Category Management across identified lead categories (to include but not limited to Gantries/Pavements/Temporary Traffic Management/Earthworks/Traffic Technology)
- Develop a new category management strategy and a category renewals strategy. Develop and manage relationships with key members of the supply chain and Business Partners to achieve a collaborative approach to procurement of common requirements across all aspects of delivery of each category.
- Contribute to, and learn from, community groups associated with individual categories.
- Provide leadership and direction to the supporting team, supply chain and business partners.
- Deliver relevant Divisional targets and Performance Plan objectives.
- Manage category risks and strategic risks including supplier performance and resilience
- Create market and supplier intelligence and manage the supplier selection process
- Develop and lead implementation a second phase of categories (to include but not limited to temporary traffic barrier, road signs, fencing, drainage and ducting)
- Creating market and supplier intelligence reports to support the business
- Monthly business reporting
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) Diploma in Procurement and Supply qualification (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential for a candidate with a strong record in leading teams to deliver results and/or delivering category management and supplier management.
- Ideally the candidate will have experience of the highways construction sector.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Managing a team of 10 people
- Developing and implementing new managed categories including road restraint systems, road signage, fencing, drainage and ducting. Obtaining feedback and lessons from live categories covering gantries, pavements, temporary traffic management, earthworks and traffic technology
- Supporting the Group Leader in running the group, performance reporting and delivering the group performance plan
- Creating market and supplier intelligence across the HA business
- Managing supplier selection and supplier risks
- Applying EU Procurement Regulations
