FOR A CLIENT OF OURS IN THE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY WE ARE LOOKING FOR A CATEGORY MANAGER ENGINEER!

THE MISSION:

The Global Category Manager and Software is responsible for further strengthening and development of the Procurement team and will operate in the supply market of on-product and software. He or she acts as a strong leader and assures the setup and realization of strategic, tactical and operational goals. The assignment starts amongst others with embedding the 3rd party software procurement strategy.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

- Develops sourcing strategies and builds and maintains long term relationships with (inter)national suppliers.
- Develop account plans with strategic Software suppliers.
- Develop with the suppliers creative software license models to maximize value.
- Uses subject matter expertise and market knowledge to shape the stakeholders demand
- Manages overall procurement for on-product software processes and drives f
- or continuous improvements.
- Drives and Executes Global category Strategy.
- Drives, executes and leads negotiations for strategic deals.
- Involves selected suppliers in early stages of new product/services introduction.
- Leads or participates in Supplier Account Teams and act in Strategic Product Family Teams.
- Assures a timely balance between committed supply capacity and expected market requirements.
- Interacts with internal stakeholders (mainly IT and D&E) in all levels within the organization.
- Willing to travel

YOUR BACKGROUND:

Master-degree in a relevant area (eg Business Economics, Business Administration, Technology Management) combined with Procurement related courses (eg NEVI II and III)

WHAT YOU'VE DONE:

- Over 10 years of work experience in a professional, complex and international environment.
- Team player with proven ability to successfully manage complex multi-disciplinary projects.
- In-depth understanding of IT markets, such as Software, Hardware, Telecommunications and Services.
- Experienced and strong negotiator.
- Preference to have experience in the area of IT Sourcing (manage RFQ/RFP processes) and IT procurement strategy development.

Good communicator combined with a result driven can do mentality. Client focused and problem solving team player who creates strong commitment with internal stakeholders and external parties. Strategic, analytical, structured, accurate and able to maintain overview, assess priorities and focus on concrete results. Self-starter, can work autonomously and independently.
