Category Manager - 6 months - Warwick - Negotiable Daily Rate

A leading Energy and Utilities client of Hyphen is looking for a Category Manager to join their IS procurement function based in Warwick, West Midlands.

Job Purpose

To manage all procurement activities for the UK Telecomms category from requirement, throught 'Source to Award" and support contract management. The Telecomms category typically has a spend ranging up to £60m per annum. The role will lead a small team of procurement professionals or lead procurement expertise within the Telecomms category and serve as the primary interface with the line of business for day to day activities. While the primary responsibility is for a Telecomms, the incumbents may be asked to support other IS categories, as needed.

Technical/Role Specific Competencies

Knowledge of the IS Telecoms Category; to include:
*Deep understanding of category management
*Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing processes
*Effective negotiation skills
*Proficient in stakeholder management and communications
*Ability to define and measure benefits, including Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
*An understanding of the market/supplier dynamics in the Telecoms area
Other capabilities will include:
*Ability to bring creative and innovative ideas to delivering procurement solutions
*Project management skills
*Skilled at developing and working with and through multi-disciplinary teams
*Requires ability to deal with ambiguity and the corresponding ability to make decisions or recommendations on incomplete information
*Commercial models applicable to this category
*Technical understanding of telecoms technologies and services to include but not limited to:
Wide Area Network/Local Area Network
Fixed (and VoIP) and wireless voice (cellular voice and data)
Private Mobile Radio and paging
Video and Audio conferencing
SCADA and associated telemetry services
Security - Firewall, DMZ interface management
Contact Centre equipment and computer integration
