THE ROLE

Robert Half Management Resources has an excellent opportunity for an Interim UK Category Manager - Fleet and Transport related to join the team of the leading global leasing organisation based in the South.

As Interim UK Category Manager your duties will include:

- To develop and implement the category sourcing strategy for Fleet and Transport related services ensuring it is aligned with the overall business objectives
- Ensure all business regions fully optimise its procurement leverage through structured supplier rationalisation and consolidation programmes for both goods and services
- Implement Group wide supply contracts, including preparation of tender documentation, contractual terms and conditions, and mechanisms to monitor and review supply chain performance.
- Establish key external market contacts to ensure relevant market intelligence is available to the business
- Provide category expertise in supporting business development activity and service solution design
- Establish clear KPI's and SLA's, in line with business requirements, and manage supplier performance against these within a culture of continuous improvement
- Monitor and analyse company performance to ensure compliance against key contractual terms and commitments
- Perform regular market testing and benchmarking against existing contracts to ensure they maintain market competitiveness and deliver value for money
- Provide commercial and contractual leadership in the negotiation of indexation and other contract variations

YOUR PROFILE

The ideal Category Manager will have the following skills and experiences:

- Demonstrable experience in a professional purchasing data role, preferably within an international business
- Previous experience of selecting and managing suppliers of Fleet and Transport related services, essential. Including but not limited to fleet products and services within a corporate environment including; cars, LGV's, HGV's, specialist conversions, leasing & fleet management, maintenance provisions, short term hire, fuel and accident management
- Formal purchasing qualification essential (CIPS)
- Project management qualification preferable
- Previous experience in managing large outsourced services contracts essential
- Contract negotiation, drafting and management of tendering processes including contracts up to the value of £50m Strong commercial acumen, advanced knowledge of contract law, good financial management and proven communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Prepared to travel throughout the UK and Europe

SALARY & BENEFITS

Interim UK Category Manager based in South. Initial 6 month contract, pay rate up to £400-£450 per day DOE (via Ltd Company).
