CATEGORY BUYER

Our client, a leading energy provider based in Crawley is presently seeking a Category Buyer

The role will involve managing a portfolio of Electricity and Gas solutions, operations and maintenance services.

CATEGORY BUYER ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

- Demonstrable experience of developing procurement strategies, based on market engagement, opportunity analysis, and full understanding of business strategy and objectives.
- Experience in managing the end to end tendering process up to award of contracts.
- Evidence of good negotiation skills, and past successes.
- A high degree of commercial acumen.
- Good understanding of contractual terms and conditions, and contract construction.
- Planning skills to support tenders.
- Understanding of stakeholder management skills with experience and ability in working with cross functional teams.
- Good practical knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Project, Visio.

CATEGORY BUYER KEY COMPETENCIES CRITICAL:

- A minimum of 5yr's strategic procurement experience.
- Proven experience within managing tenders, and delivering contracts.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
- High degree of integrity.
- High working knowledge of contracts, contract construction and drafting, and Legal terms and conditions.
- Excellent commercial acumen.

CATEGORY BUYER DESIRABLE SKILLS:

- A member of CIPS or a student member working towards the professional qualification.
