Category Buyer

My client a leading energy provider in the UK currently has an opportunity for a Category Buyer.

They are seeking a Category Buyer to conduct procurement process for professional services category which will consist of a range of contracts valued between £100k - £5m.

Requirements:

- Conduct contract extensions and rate negotiations
- Support procurement of general goods and services
- Support effective usage of SAP purchasing system
- Support vendor management process
- Undertake core procurement activities through the low risk procurement process route, with an opportunity to become involved in medium risk procurement
- Work with internal stakeholders to capture requirements and support their adequate flow down to suppliers
- Demonstrate and deliver "value" both internally and externally in the supply base
- Work effectively with internal customers and ensure that we provide excellent customer service
- Ensure that commercial risk to the client are minimised and ensure commercial and legal quality and legislative compliance is achieved
- Ensure adequate control and retention of procurement and commercial documents
- Support continuous improvement in the function
