Sogeti UK are looking for a number of a Cat-Modelling Support & Maintenance Engineer to join our testing practice during an exciting period of expansion. You'll have the opportunity to gain experience in a range of sectors including insurance, financial services, public sector, retail and many more. ROLE

As we're going through a period of rapid growth, we're seeking a Cat-Modelling Support & Maintenance Engineer to be based on customer site in the London. You'll be required to provide customer support and advanced troubleshooting for key line of business modelling applications - including RMS RiskLink and RiskBrowser, AIR Catrader and Touchstone systems.

As a Consultant, you will act a trusted advisor and be required to build relationships, exceed delivery expectations, champion best working practices and identify areas for improvement.

AS A CAT-MODELLING SUPPORT & MAINTENANCE ENGINEER YOUR DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

Providing customer support and advanced troubleshooting for key line of business modelling applications - including RMS RiskLink and RiskBrowser, AIR Catrader and Touchstone systems.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Investigation and resolution of issues reported by users by a variety of methods. Liaising with and assigning issues to other teams within IT and third party support providers as appropriate - reporting issue resolutions, fix timescales and workarounds to affected users in appropriate terms.
- Monitor application performance and availability via monitoring tools, investigation, escalation and resolution of performance issues howsoever reported.
- Maintain up to date operational documentation including environment configuration, procedures & process documents, troubleshooting guides and Wiki articles for use by other teams and colleagues. 
- Identify pro-active improvement opportunities for the overall health and performance of these systems.
- Attend Service Review meetings with both the business and external suppliers providing system health metrics to support review conversations.
- Work alongside the business providing guidance on best practice for the usage of these applications being the go to' person for issues and requests.
- Application management including account and permission administration via Active Directory and other methods.
- Support problem management investigations into root cause of issues and provide input into CSIP activities.
- Work with DBA's and technical teams to ensure all support activities are delivered in a timely manner.
- Organise regular health checks of the environments to ensure housekeeping tasks are performed and system are maintained to optimal levels.  Identify and test patches & fixes that are relevant to the environments.
- Liaise with employees at all levels within the organisation - communicating with customers in a professional and courteous manner at all times, providing technical support in a customer focused way.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

- Must have proven experience in supporting business applications including systems administration, problem solving, technical analyses and troubleshooting methodologies
- Demonstrable experience of proactive ownership of a product and pride in resolving issues and improving the product performance
- Must possess a strong competence and experience with the following technologies:
- o Microsoft Windows and Server products
- o SQL Administration
- o Database connectivity (eg ODBC, .NET access)
- Strong competence on Windows Server system administration/troubleshooting
- Proven competence in issue resolution and management
- An appreciation of the importance of customer service (keeping customers informed, understanding their motivation and translating the process into clear terms)

DESIRABLE SKILLS

- Solid SQL knowledge
- A good understanding of the software development process
- ITIL foundation certificate
- Application deployment and testing experience
- Experience of handling multiple call management systems
- Implementing or supporting business software applications into the insurance market
- Experience supporting RMS RiskLink, AIR Catrader and Touchstone systems
- Experience of using performance monitoring tools to identify issues
- Awareness of Networking protocols, Server hardware, Virtualisation, SAN and Cluster technologies - their limits and requirements
- Awareness and application of disaster recovery and security principles for networking and data storage.
