Cash and Banking Manager/London

CASH AND BANKING SUPERVISOR

London based PE backed market leading Infrastructure business requires a Cash Accountant to support their growth by establishing the Cash and Banking divisions processes and practices within the Centralised Back Office.

This will run in Tandem with the SAP implementation:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- To ensure that all Cash and Bank transactions are processed accurately through SAP and that financial control and governance is maintained on cash & banking activities
- Supporting the Operating Companies (Op-Co's) for all cash and banking requirements
- Ensuring that all local Op-Co financial and regulatory objectives are met
- Supervise a team of 2 to perform all the cash and banking activities accurately and to agreed timescales
- Make sure that all cash and banking transactions on the SAP system are recorded and updated accurately
- Accurately reconcile all manual cheques issued by Op-Co's
- Ensure that queries are dealt with effectively and efficiently
- Monitor all data inaccuracies, thoroughly investigate, and escalate when necessary
- Identify any system issues and escalate where required
- Perform weekly or monthly bank reconciliations as required
- Maintain the bank mandates and authorised signatory Matrix
- Ensure departmental manuals and process documentation are kept up to date
- Complete ad hoc projects and tasks within the agreed timescale to a satisfactory level
- Remain vigilant for any fraudulent activity and report it to management promptly

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

- Using SAP
- Previous experience of bank reconciliation's, month end procedures and working in a busy finance team
- Experience of leading a small team
- Previous experience in a finance department working with cash transactions
- Customer service skills
- Excel skills
- Proactive team player
- Ability to communicate with people across the organisation at various levels.
- Ability to investigate, and apply resolution to problems competently without supervision
- Ability to identify and implement process improvements
