Projektbeschreibung

Caretaker required on a temporary contract (3 months initially, but may be extended) within the Adult Community Learning Services. The role is based at Beeches Close, Chelmsford and will involve basic caretaking duties. This position will be managed by a site manager at another site within ACL Central. Duties to include opening and closing the premises, security etc. ACL class set-ups, fire evacuations, access to the premises and all other associated caretaking matters.

Part time: 30 Hrs/week (0700-1300 and 1600-2200 shift pattern alternate weeks)

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

To fulfil all caretaking activities across the site.

To undertake the full range of cleaning tasks within the premises, including toilets, the cleaning of windows and polishing of floors etc, including periodic special and spring-cleaning.

To undertake induction, performance and development review process and staff training activities with caretaking and cleaning staff as required in accordance with County procedures

To participate personally in the performance and development review process

To organise periodic emergency evacuation of premises in line with Service Health & Safety codes of practice

To test electrical equipment and undertake Health and Safety risk assessments and ensure policies, procedures and Codes of Practice are adhered to

Monitor systems and equipment ensuring they meet Health and Safety requirements

To identify and report any premises defects to the property maintenance team and ensure work carried out to a satisfactory conclusion

From time to time organise and oversee larger alteration and improvement projects to the site(s)

To ensure all hard areas and paths are free from litter and all drains and gullies are free flowing and clean.

To maintain the grounds, including mowing and clearing of weeds

To ensure adequate levels of stock of cleaning materials and other supplies. Take deliveries, ensuring they are checked and forwarded to the correct part of the premises

To arrange and undertake first line repairs and maintenance

To check that central heating systems are appropriately set and function effectively, organising maintenance if required and take meter readings

The postholder will be required to be mobile, therefore a valid driving licence and use of car is required, unless the role can be undertaken effectively by alternative transport arrangements.

Any other duties compatible with the post held, which may be reasonably required from time to time. The duties of the post may be changed and/or varied to meet the changing needs of the Service
