Capital Planning Senior Manager

CAPITAL PLANNING Senior Manager - 9 months (£50-68k + benefits)

A unique opportunity for an enthusiastic, committed and delivery focused qualified accountant to be responsible for delivering the capital plan of a major bank and external and internal reporting of the Group capital position. 

Being a natural networker, you will be skilled at building relationships throughout the business, and using these to develop yourself and colleagues, improve processes and customer service and play a key role in delivering the function's balanced scorecard

Core Responsibilities

- Completion of capital plan (and capital plan for the purposes of stress-testing), including review of divisional submissions in the quarterly planning rounds;
- Preparation of monthly capital information for presentation to internal Board and Executive committees with insightful analysis and ensuring key messages delivered;
- Preparation of actual capital position, with subsequent reporting to the FSA and external disclosures within Annual Report and Accounts;
- Ensure strong controls environment in place including compliance with SOX, RCA and Group Minimum Standards;
- Provision of regulatory technical advice to divisions/group colleagues;
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the regulatory function by providing input to Capital and Regulatory Reporting senior management;
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other finance and risk units, providing input to Group discussions and decisions and identifying/implementing initiatives to enhance business performance;
- Manage, motivate, develop and appraise team members as required, so that their individual and collective performance meets the current and future needs of the business undertaking the recruitment process when required.

We are seeking detailed knowledge of regulatory capital rules under both Basel 2 and Basel 3 regimes and a very good knowledge of current IFRS accounting rules.
