Background

Our Central Government client is looking for a Campaigns Technical Author

Role
Looking for someone to develop well written copy for publications, campaigns and our website, following quality criteria and auditable sign-off process.
To deliver a well-crafted, customer focused copy for engaging communication products, campaign content and collateral. Targeted at different customer groups with differing levels of knowledge and engagement, you will need to translate complex technical information into more accessible content, using plain English.
The principal aim is to prevent problems from developing. We use our powers flexibly, reasonably and appropriately, with the aim of putting things right and keeping schemes on the right track for the long term.

Main Duties/Responsibilities

Responsibilities
You will...
*retain authorship and editorial responsibility for communications collateral ensuring a seamless suite of material, consistent with house style guidelines and other web-based content
*be aware of developments in legislation, the regulator policy, legal requirements, brand, house style and tone of voice to ensure existing content is updated (working with document owners) in line with annual content audit
*ensure new content is aligned and correct

Skills/Experience Required

Essential skills

*portfolio of work demonstrating technical authorship/copywriting and sub editing abilities, with a particular focus on translating complex technical information into a range of content suitable for different customer groups.
*5+ years' proven successful experience of writing and editing effective offline/online content.
*proven ability to manage potentially high volumes of work over a short period of time whilst ensuring high levels of professionalism and quality output at all times
*confidence to work both autonomously and as part of a multi function team as required
*ability to acquire in depth knowledge of complex and detailed legislation swiftly
*Experience of working in a windows-based office environment (rather than MAC)
*working experience of accessibility standards in relation to level-double A of WCAG 2.0, inDesign (CS5.5 - 6),
