CAE Analyst - Automotive - 53 weeks contract - Coventry - £28/hr/Ltd

My client is a successful company within the Automotive industry who has an opportunity for a Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) Analyst to join them out of their Coventry offices. The role is initially on a 53 weeks contract basis offering up to £28/hr/Ltd.

This is a CAE Analyst role within the Powertrain in-Vehicle analysis team who provides CAE support to new powertrain and vehicle programmes from concept through to engineering sign-off. The team covers the full range of conventional and electrified powertrain variants across all company vehicle lines.

The role involves running Simulink based vehicle models to predict fuel economy and performance metrics, interpreting and reporting the results, concept assessment, component selection, calibration optimisation and gateway status reporting. The role also involves detailed correlation of these models against physical test data.

Skills required from an ideal CAE Analyst include:
+ Exposure to MATLAB/Simulink
+ Solid understanding of vehicle systems including typical performance characteristics and metrics
+ Ability to interpret simulation results and document findings
+ Strong analytical capability including model and data management
+ Ability to communicate complex technical concepts, data and conclusions to a wide audience
+ Able to respond to the strengths and limitations of computer based modelling and simulation
