CAD Technician (Rail/Microstation)

My client is an independent firm of designers, planners, engineers, consultants and technical specialists offering a broad range of professional services.

We are looking for a CAD Technician and a Senior CAD Technician to provide technical support to the Infrastructure Group in Bristol. We are looking for an Infrastructure Technician to work on a variety of multi-discipline Rail and Site Development projects on an assignment basis (initially 2-4 months).

Role

Preparation of quality CAD drawings and calculations.
Checking quality and accuracy of own work and others' ensuring outputs meet the required standards.
Manage work on a range of projects; ensuring deadlines are met.
Project and team administrative duties and document control.
Contributing to project related correspondence and reports.
Representative for the team/group at internal meetings.

Requirements

Qualifications in Engineering, draughting, CAD or other drawing application would be an advantage.
Fully conversant in MicroStation drawing based work and some experience in Infrastructure 3D modelling.
Some In Roads skills will be an advantage.
Experience in rail, earthworks and civil structures will be an advantage.
Proven success in contributing to a team oriented environment.
Able to work directly with our Clients, if required.
Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
Ability to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines is essential.
Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
Highly motivated and willing to take on new challenges and possibly go the extra mile to satisfy the client and project demands.
