CAD OPERATOR/ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN NEEDED for a CONTRACT TO HIRE opportunity with Yoh's LOGISTICS AND AUTOMATION CLIENT located in CHARLOTTE, NC

THE BIG PICTURE:

- CAD Operator/Engineering Technician designs LAYOUT FOR EQUIPMENT PLACEMENT; develops system plans, performs CAD DESIGNER DUTIES, ASSISTS PROJECT MANAGERS.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- CAD Operator/Engineering Technician SPECIFIES THE TYPE OF EQUIPMENT TO BE USED IN AUTOMATED SYSTEMS, such as: racks, pallet stands, mezzanines; determines forking mechanisms on cranes.
- CAD Operator/Engineering Technician Assists Systems Engineers in DESIGNING AND COMPLETING LAYOUTS FOR EQUIPMENT PLACEMENT, such as: integrating equipment from different manufacturers, manipulating layout of equipment to avoid interference with building structures, combining drawings from multiple parties
- System planning: meets with engineers to discuss layouts and critical issues,
- Assists System Engineers with the following: working with contractors and supplying them with technical information, obtaining estimates from contractors and suppliers, coordinating with suppliers and contractors, PRODUCING DRAWINGS TO AID IN UNDERSTANDING OF SYSTEM (INCLUDING 3-D DRAWINGS)
- CAD design: PRODUCES CAD DRAWINGS AS NEEDED FOR ALL PROJECT MANAGERS and sales presentations, maintains drawing library for all proposals and projects, MODIFIES DRAWINGS TO WORK IN AUTOCAD, 3D RENDERING CAPABILITIES

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- AUTOCAD CERTIFICATE OR DEGREE FROM TECHNICAL SCHOOL, or equivalent combination of education/experience; MS Suite literacy; AutoCAD experience; 3D rendering capability, understanding of systems operation and critical issues or ability to learn.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and engineers.
- Ability to apply fundamental mathematical concepts such as algebra and trigonometry. Ability to apply mathematical operations to programming and sampling analysis.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
