CAD Drafter Job

ENTRY LEVEL CAD DRAFTER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Camden, NJ.

TOP SKILLS SHOULD YOU POSSESS:

- 2D CAD Drafting experience

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Responsible for creating, modifying, and releasing 2D packaging specification drawings and die lines on deadline for use by packaging engineers, manufacturing facilities, graphic designers and printers.
- Responsible for drafting across multiple packaging platforms, including primary packages (flexible films, paperboard cartons, etc), secondary packages (preprinted shrink wrap, paperboard sleeves, etc) and tertiary packages (corrugate cases and trays, etc).
- Work closely with packaging engineers and suppliers to ensure the drawings convey the correct information and meet plant and design standards.
- Responsible for managing structure and organization of a packaging drawing database.
- Self-check own work for completeness, accuracy, and standards.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Associates Degree or Technical Degree
- Zero to two (0-2) years drafting experience, preferably in a packaging organization.
- Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter, and be extremely detail-oriented.
- Able to work closely with packaging engineers, suppliers and plant operators to obtain information or ensure drawing clarity.
- Must be able to handle multiple projects at a time.
- Must be proficient in AutoCAD LT or similar 2D CAD software.
- Excellent knowledge of drafting standards.
- Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator preferred.
- Ability to optimally design new tertiary, distribution and POS/POP packaging in the areas of corrugate and folding cartons.
- Ability to select materials to meet optimal packaging performance and costs (board combinations, etc).
- Knowledge of packaging equipment/machinery, ie form fill seal machines, labelers.
- Experience with packaging processes a plus: aseptic, retort, hotfill.
- Prototyping experience including 3D printers and diecutters.
