CAD Drafter

$45.00/hr

Transforms initial rough product designs using computer aided design (CAD) into working documents. May require an associate's degree in a related area and at least 4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May direct and lead the work of others. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

MICROSTATION ELECTRICAL DRAFTER

Very specific experience required and should be clear on the Resume: Failure to meet criteria will result in rejection.

1. Microstation experience

2. Must have BS in Electrical Engineering - must have bulk of experience in electrical control design - not looking for architectural CAD drafters.*

3. Must have physical design experience outdoors physical design

4. Must have substation experience

Ability and willingness to travel a minimum of 10% to support design projects

REQUIRED:

Minimum of 5 years experience as an electrical control designer for a utility or engineering firm

Prior experience with field installation and construction

Prior experience with Substation design desired: GE products

Prior experience with utility substation design standards

Prior programming experience using VBA for Microsoft Excel and/or Access
High proficiency with both AutoCAD and Microstation

Design experience with civil foundations, steel detailing, and electrical power equipment such as support structures and insulators.

Knowledge of fuse and circuit breaker coordination

Solid understanding of design drafting practices and engineering systems utilized in the power industry

Ability to develop Plan View and Elevation schematics from one and three line diagrams

Demonstrated knowledge of desktop computers and Microsoft Office products

Demonstrated familiarity with web-based design collaboration sites and drawing management systems

Ability to work independently and effectively interface with a multi-discipline engineering team and project managers

Detail oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills

Continually strives for a professional product with a quality & process mindset

Prior experience following quality assurance processes while working in a projects schedule-driven environment

Customer focused with ability to adapt to various customer standards

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Prefers someone who has not changed jobs alot
