Cable Installation Engineer

Job description:

The Cable Installation Engineer organizes and manages ABBs activities related to Cable Engineering at site in Haugesund before handing over the project to customer.

Responsible for analysing cable issues and installations defects, create design solution and associated workpackages - all work in coordination with the Cable Installation Coordinators.

Reports to and gives assistance (within his/her area of responsibility) to the Installation Manager regarding planning and coordination of activities. Assists in technical discussions with clients and the client's consultants.

Function as the interface between home office Engineering- and site Installation organization.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

- Minimum five years experience as Cable Installation Engineer both in office and at installation sites.
- Experience with power and utlity plants of different size, complexity and technologies.
- Experience from installation engineering and design, including electrical design of Plant Circuit Diagram, Cable List, Routing, Site Logistics etc.
- Experience and ability to lead, manage, plan, supervise and follow-up work and sub-ordinates.
- Knowledge from Offshore installations is a plus.
- Experienced in MS Excel, handling a lot of information in a structured way, filtering, sorting and creating views for reports.
- Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
