C++: Software Engineer Distributed Systems/Software Engineer C++ Boost

WESTHOUSE IS ACTIVELY SEARCHING FOR A SOFTWARE ENGINEER FOR A DEMANDING PROJECT. THE SOFTWARE ENGINEER WILL BE WORKING IN AN ENVIRONMENT WITH STATE OF THE ART TECHNOLOGY.

After finalization of the project (in about 6-8) months, it is possible to extend the contract with the client for 6 or 12 months. Most contractors work for 2 - 3 years at our client.

Our client is building a next generation web service for content identification. This platform consists of several 10's of nodes and needs to auto scale at run-time, be extremely robust and resilient for failure. Our client builds different applications on top of this platform.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR AN ENGINEER WHO CAN:

Develop and maintain the distributed platform with a focus on the core: the search worker doing the actual matching of unknown fingerprints against the reference fingerprints.
             Develop and maintain the remote monitoring functionality
             Work with our research department on new distributed search strategies

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Master degree in Computer Science or closely related field
             Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development
             Fluent in English speech and writing
             Experience with agile development and working in self organizing teams
             Feels strong responsibility and ownership of software and it's quality
             Available full time in the Eindhoven office

PROVEN EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

C++,  Boost and STL
             Algorithms and data structures
             Writing code in a test driven approach
             Linux platform and admin/config
             Distributed systems and high traffic web services
             The web and it's protocols and formats (HTTP, JSON)
             Writing code in a test driven approach
             Plus: Python
