C&I Contractor (Design and Engineers) Urgently Required

My Client, A large contractor operating in the oil and gas/power/nuclear industries, are looking for C&I designers and C&I Engineers for their Base in Teesside.

Mainly on Shutdown and maintinance projects, the ideal candidate must be confident with a broad range on C&I Tasks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Identifying use of manpower at the project level
* Assigning manpower duties and responsibilities at the project level. Control of man hours against the estimated man hours for the project
* Updating manhours spreadsheet weekly as required by the project planner
* Ensuring that programme milestones are met
* Preparation of progress reports
* Supervise the production of design documents and checking design documents
* Attending HAZOPS/HAZIDS study meetings
* Attending project meetings
* Attend Vendor meetings
* Raising change notes to identify changes over and above the estimated requirements

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
* Substantial experience in the design of and instrumentation and control systems associated with industries such as petroleum refining, chemical manufacture, oil & gas
* Some experience in a supervisory capacity
* Highly experienced in the development of instrument and control specifications in structure and format at both high level and low level with the ability to apply the English language technically and coherently in both style and content
* Highly experienced in all aspects of the structure and content of design documentation particular to controls and instrumentation and their purpose
* Highly experienced with all types of modern instrumentation and capable of estimating and supervising the specification and selection the most appropriate instrument for a given application in conjunction with the Client and Project Team Members
* Highly experienced at the instrumentation and control systems level able to estimate and supervise, advise, co-ordinate and develop system architecture and concepts in conjunction with the Client, Project Team Members and Vendors. This should include Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), fiscal metering systems, analytical systems, security systems and the integration of Vendor Package Units
* Experienced in the application of advanced methods of data communication appropriate for particular system architecture comprising the types of system identified earlier. This should include a detailed knowledge of TCP/IP Ethernet utilising fibre optic, Modbus, Profibus, Fieldbus
* Experienced in complying with and applying common standards applicable to controls and instrumentation associated with those industries identified earlier.
* Experienced in the design of Fire and Gas systems, safety protection systems and complying with standards applicable to hazardous areas
* Competent in the use and application of Word, Excel Spreadsheets and Access Database
* Degree C Eng preferred but not essential.
