C++ Developer - Unix - Equity Order Flow - FIX - Banking

Hatstand, a global financial technology consultancy, is seeking a C++ Developer for an Equities Trading business.

A top tier investment bank has recently developed a new set of algos for their futures and options trading desk and require a top level technologist to work on implementing them into the primary electronic trading platform while fine tuning the systems performance. The strategic electronic trading platform is experiencing messaging and latency issues largely attributed to clashes between incoming market data feeds and out-going order routing messages. The belief is that significant performance improvements can be achieved with intelligent re-design and tuning of the current platforms' feed handlers and market adaptors as opposed to making major changes to the electronic trading platforms core architecture.

The group are seeking a very capable C++ developer who has extensive experience is developing and performance tuning low level, message intensive system components within the financial markets sector. You will have sound experience of coding FIX engines and market adaptors and a very strong understanding of the technologies of best development approaches for financial trading systems where low latency is a priority. You will have strong knowledge of TCP/IP, SQL (ideally Oracle), scripting (csh, ksh, bash or Perl) and in-depth knowledge of design patterns, multithreading and good communication skills making you comfortable in an openly communicative environment.

Any practical knowledge of high performance / grid computing will be a plus. Experience of coding in assembler for ad-hoc low level performance enhancements will also be useful.
