C++ Developer - Cheltenham - £32k + Bonus, Overtime, Training

A C++ Developer interested in joining a small but highly regarded Software House. You'll have the chance to work on a large and complex system with 2 million lines of source code, 400 database tables and 300 UI screens. You will be heavily involved with the multi-million pound product rewrite from the very start, involved with the design of the new system and have the opportunity to transfer your skills from C++ to C# in the years to come.

The company have the highest standards when it comes to coding but this quality is created in an informal and relaxed environment without any red tape. They look for proactive and forward thinking developers and there is always the chance for a drink with the team after work on a Friday.

We have a basic salary on offer up to £32,000 but it is also worth highlighting the Company bonus scheme (20% of all pre-tax profits are shared across the business - typically around £2,000), paid overtime (again worth around a further £2,000), a further £2,000 annual training budget per person is also available and in the contract, contributory pension scheme, private health insurance and annual pay reviews.

C++ Software Developer -Cheltenham- £32,000 plus overtime, bonus and training

The following skills and experiences are sought:

- Proficient in Object Orientated Programming with a couple of years recent commercial experience in using Microsoft Visual C++ with MFC to develop business applications interacting with an enterprise class database. We need some UI Interface experience (not necessarily MFC) at a basic level - we are not looking for a creative graphic designer.
- Experienced in development of Windows Graphical User Interface based applications.
- A good understanding of the full development process - requirements, design, development, testing - with an interest in continuous process improvement.
- An understanding and some experience of enterprise level databases is necessary. Specifically experience in Transact SQL, PL-SQL, Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle would be an advantage. We are not looking for a DBA but someone who can write queries and join tables etc.
- Competent in planning and executing personal unit testing and the ability to recognise the impact of specific code changes on the project as a whole.
- A strong internal emphasis on good design principles requires precise communication and documentation skills.

Desirable:

- A knowledge of logistics or banking environments would be advantageous but not essential.
