This client are serious about hiring, and growing their already impressive mobile development team (iOS, Android and even RIM) They require a C developer for a financial services iOS build. They will be porting Matlab, to C, and then to iOS. It is an interesting project in that it is an iOS Development project, in which part of it is converting code from Matlab to C, and to iOS. Would you be working alongside a Matlab, a C++ and an Objective C experts to do this. Any reference to algorithms and mathematics knowledge will likely be in reference to this. A strong mathematically mind, this would be beneficial.

ROLE SUMMARY:
The C Developer will work within the Technology team in the Dublin office to convert existing server-based biometric algorithms into lightweight versions capable of running on Apple iOS smartphones and tablets. The original algorithms were developed in Matlab and C/C++ and process face and voice samples captured on the mobile device, using the phone's cameras and microphones. Strong quantitative and mathematical skills will be required to work alongside the original biometric algorithm developers to migrate the complex functionality and image processing techniques used by the algorithms to the mobile platform. The C Developer is expected to have strong experience implementing mathematical-based functionality in C, have some experience or keen interest in developing for the Apple iOS mobile platforms, and possess the flexibility and desire to learn new technologies. Experience with image processing, computer vision, or signal processing, especially for mobile or Embedded platforms, desirable.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Take existing biometric algorithms and implement on Apple mobile platforms
- Work closely with biometric research scientists to integrate designs, components, and ideas together;
- Optimize code for fast execution with the limited resources available on the mobile platform
- Deliver on assigned software design, development, testing, and documentation tasks;

QUALIFICATIONS:

- 2+ years of Software Engineering experience using C;
- B.S. in Engineering, Maths or similar quantitative subject;
- Keen interest in developing biometric applications in iOS;
- Strong knowledge of Object Oriented concepts;
- Knowledge of Multithreaded programming;
- Experience with computer vision and image processing algorithms a plus.
