We are looking for a Buyer (Product Buyer) with an extensive procurement background for a maternity cover contract with one of the largest aerospace and defence consultancies.

The ideal Buyer (Product Buyer), will preferably have experience in the defence industry but this is by no means a necessity. You will need extensive buying experience, and a CIPS qualification would be highly advantageous.

Role

*Manage the process of Requests for Quotation through to the placement of Purchase Orders on suppliers.
*Manage process of supplier returns/non-conforming material..Achieve the appropriate level of material availability by providing a stable and optimised flow to meet the customer's plan..Monitor and manage supplier by tracking progress and performance - (on time delivery, quality, cost etc).
.Vet suppliers and compile Vendor Assessments when necessary..Identify internal and external cost generators and be proactive in influencing cost reductions.

Skills

*MRP II procurement skills.
*Knowledge of manufacturing commodities, with experience in the Defence Industry being beneficial.
*Commercial experience and good negotiating skills.
*Buyer experience is required, with a strong emphasis on delivery and quality..Sub-contract management experience would be an advantage.
*CIPS - Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Qualification (preferably)
